Coming Together to support the BC Thanksgiving Food Drive

Food insecurity and hunger are real and amongst us.

The BC Thanksgiving Food Drive is an annual weekend initiative that delivers a large influx of food and financial support directly to local BC food banks, including the Central Okanagan, to help support the many families in need.

Members of our Callahan Property Group team volunteered their time and were hands-on sorting the thousands of pounds of food that came through the door on Saturday, collected from many doorsteps throughout the Kelowna area. The experience of working alongside the food bank team and other individual and corporate volunteers was inspiring and sheds light on the importance of this service. It is by coming together that we can take a stand against food insecurity and make a positive impact on those who need us most.

Supporting South Okanagan During & After the Wildfire

The devastating Okanagan Region wildfires will leave a lasting impact on our communities.  Our hearts go out to all those who have lost their homes or are experiencing significant losses due to this crisis.

A huge thank you to our emergency response teams including the Fire Fighters, RCMP, BC Wildfire Services and countless volunteers for doing everything in their power to save & secure properties as well as the countless hours invested to keep our communities safe. We will be forever grateful to those individuals who fought this fire and all the organizations and individuals who stepped up to ensure those displaced are well taken care of now and for months to come.

The Canadian Red Cross and the Central Okanagan Food Bank are two critical front-line organizations that are supporting those directly impacted and displaced by this wildfire. Callahan Property Group is proud to be a part of a community of donors for both organizations and has recently provided significant donations to both.

We are a resilient community and will get through this event together.

CPG Joins the Mental Health Movement

The Callahan Property Group employees selected the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) to support this year and raise valuable funds for their mental health programs. All employee donations are matched by CPG to double their impact.

CMHA hosts one major donation drive a year through their Ride Don’t Hide event. Their goal is to promote mental health; help bring mental health into the open, so no one has to hide; and raise funds to support mental health programs and services, so no one has to struggle.

The CPG team got behind the mental health movement by joining the Ride Don’t Hide event and raised over $3,800 for their cause.  The CPG team participated in the 5.8 km walk and 8.5 km, 25 km, 50 km, & 100 km ride.  A few others were volunteering at the event and getting loud on mental health (…more cowbell, anyone?)

The ride was a lot of fun and gave us a chance to connect, reflect on mental health and support our community.
